What happens when you apply
When you apply, your request goes to lenders in our network, including tribal installment lenders, who review it and may show you an offer, often within minutes. You then compare offers and decide whether to accept one.
Applying through our form is the same as asking several lenders at once whether they can help. We do not make the decision or fund the loan. Each lender looks at your details, runs its own checks and sets its own terms. If a lender behind direct tribal loans makes an offer, its name, tribe and governing law will appear on the offer page, along with the APR, payment and total cost.
Four steps to submit your request
Submitting a request takes four steps: choose the amount and purpose, share income and contact details, add your checking account, and review any offers that come back.
- Choose your amount and purpose. Select an amount between $500 and $5,000 and tell lenders what the money is for.
- Share income and contact details. Enter your income, pay frequency, employer or benefit source, and how to reach you.
- Add your checking account. Provide the account where you want funds deposited and payments collected.
- Review offers and sign. Read the APR, schedule and total cost, then accept the offer that fits or decline them all.
Most people finish in about five minutes. Having your pay stub and bank details nearby makes it quicker.
What to have ready before you start
Have your Social Security number, a valid ID, your income amount and pay frequency, your employer or benefit source, and your checking account and routing numbers ready before you start.
Lenders verify most details electronically, so you rarely need to upload documents. Keep a recent pay stub or benefit letter handy in case a lender calls to confirm something. Our eligibility checklist lists the full requirements, including age rules in Alabama and Nebraska.
How your information is used
Your information is used to match your request with lenders and to let those lenders review it. It travels over an encrypted connection, and we never ask for your online banking password.
We share your details with lenders and partners involved in finding you an offer, as our privacy policy explains. Lenders may contact you by phone, text or email about your request. You can opt out of marketing contact at any time by replying to the lender or emailing us.
Reading your offer before you sign
Before signing any personal loan, read the disclosure box, payment schedule, fees, prepayment terms and governing-law section. Those five parts tell you what you will pay and what happens if something goes wrong.
Check that the amount financed matches what you need after any fee. Confirm the first due date lines up with your payday. If you receive direct tribal loans offers alongside state-licensed ones, compare the total of payments directly; the difference is often hundreds of dollars. Our personal loan calculator helps you check any payment.
If you do not receive an offer
If no lender makes an offer, you have not lost anything, and your main credit score is not affected by submitting our form. Common reasons include income below a lender's minimum, recent overdrafts or a state the lenders do not serve.
Wait until your checking account shows a month without overdrafts, request a smaller amount, or check a credit union payday alternative loan. Our bad credit loans guide explains other options. You can submit a new request whenever your situation changes.
Same-day and next-day funding
Many lenders fund within one business day after you sign, and some offer same-day funding if you sign before a morning cutoff. Your bank's posting schedule can add a day.
If timing matters, ask the lender for its funding cutoff before you sign. People looking for same day tribal loans should still compare total cost, since faster funding often comes with a higher APR. Signing early on a weekday gives you the best chance of quick funding.
Choosing the right amount to request
Request the amount you actually need, not the largest amount you might qualify for. A personal loan sized to the bill keeps payments lower and total interest smaller, and it often brings a faster decision.
Add up the quotes or bills you need to cover, then add any origination fee that will be deducted from the deposit. Round up to the nearest $100. For example, a $1,450 repair with a possible 5% fee calls for a request of about $1,550. If you are unsure, request the smaller figure; many lenders let you accept less than you asked for but rarely offer more.
Requesting a reasonable amount also helps approval. Lenders compare the payment to your income, so a smaller personal loan fits more budgets and passes their checks more easily, especially on a first loan with a new lender.
Applying with a co-applicant or limited credit
If your credit is limited, some lenders allow a co-applicant whose income and credit can strengthen the request. The co-applicant shares full responsibility for the personal loan, so choose someone who understands the commitment.
Without a co-applicant, the best ways to strengthen a request are steady income, a checking account free of recent overdrafts and an accurate application. Lenders that serve limited credit often look at bank activity rather than a score, which can work in your favor if deposits are regular.
If you have no credit history at all, a small first personal loan repaid on time can start building one, provided the lender reports to the bureaus. Ask about reporting before you sign, since many high-cost lenders do not report positive payments.
Our commitments to you
We commit to four things: the form is free, you are never obligated to accept an offer, we explain how we are paid, and we answer questions from real people by email and phone.
We are not a lender, so we cannot promise approval, a particular rate or a funding time; those decisions belong to the lender. What we can do is make the request simple, explain direct tribal loans honestly, and help you compare. Read our advertiser disclosure for details on our business model.
