About Direct Tribal Loans

We run a free loan request service and an editorial site that helps people compare personal and tribal installment loan offers before they sign.

01

Who we are

Direct Tribal Loans is a loan request and comparison service based in Indianapolis, Indiana. We connect people who need $500 to $5,000 with lenders and lending partners in our network, and we publish guides that explain what those loans cost.

We are not a lender. We do not make credit decisions, fund loans or set rates. Our job is to make one request reach several lenders and to give you the information you need to judge each offer on its own terms.

02

Why we started

Many people searching for fast credit see a single offer, often at a very high APR, and sign it because it is the only one in front of them. We started this service so borrowers could see more than one offer and compare them by total cost.

Searches for direct tribal loans are a good example. Tribe-owned lenders can approve borrowers that banks decline, but their prices vary widely. Seeing several offers side by side, with the APR and total of payments for each, can save a borrower hundreds of dollars on the same loan amount.

03

What we believe

We believe borrowers deserve clear numbers before they sign: the APR, every fee, the payment schedule and the total cost. We believe high-cost credit should be a last resort, used for real needs and repaid as quickly as possible.

That is why our guides often recommend cheaper options first, such as credit union loans, payment plans or local assistance, even when those options do not earn us anything.

04

How we earn money

Our service is free for borrowers. We are paid by lenders and lending partners when a request is submitted or a loan is funded through our network. Compensation can influence which partners participate in our network and the order in which offers are shown.

Compensation does not change the facts in our guides, and lenders do not review our articles before publication. Our advertiser disclosure explains these relationships in full.

05

Our editorial standards

Our guides are written by named editors with backgrounds in consumer credit counseling, loan servicing and household bookkeeping: Renata Okafor, Dale Whitford and Ines Calloway. Each article cites primary sources where possible and shows the math behind every payment example.

We review pages when rules or market conditions change and mark each page with its last review date. Corrections are made promptly when readers or partners point out errors.

06

How we protect your information

Requests are submitted over an encrypted connection. Your information is shared only with lenders and lending partners in our network for the purpose of responding to your request, and with service providers that help us operate the site.

You can read exactly what we collect and how it is used in our privacy policy. You can also ask us to stop marketing messages at any time.
